She has that « little something » that makes you feel of having met her before?
Look no further, she is Solal's cousin ; no wonder she looks familiar!
Together, they grew up in the garden and did the 400 rounds other there. Since then, she settled down a lot and takes her role as hostess very much at heart.
Solidly built in solid oak and well protected by an untinted oil, she is not afraid of anything, especially not stains.
Depending on her waistline, she generously welcomes 6 or 8 guests for a small snack or a refined dinner.
She is also a very intimate friend of Lily, whose confidences she shares during their girl’s lunches, and adopts the same colour variation for her feet : andrinople red or black chic.
The story behind the Iris table :
Her original drawing is taken from an engraving from the first half of the 19th century entitled ‘Meubles rustiques’.
At the time, this term referred to furniture made by the trellis maker from raw logs - i.e. wood covered with its bark - as opposed to solid oak or chestnut, which were then the responsibility of the furniture carpenter and were intended to be painted.
The trellis maker usually used less noble but more flexible species, such as alder, privet, dogwood and even birch, from which he took scions or shoots of the year that he could bend more easily.
That said, it will not have escaped your notice that we have made an exception to this little story because the Iris table is made of solid oak. Firstly to make her last longer, but also because we are first and foremost furniture makers!
